Kraus Maintenance Services is owned and operated by Marianne Kraus and John Hutchinson and was started in 2006 in California. John brought to Kraus 28 years of experience in crane and equipment repair, hydraulics, and equipment management. This includes equipment maintenance management, computer database design, hydraulic repairs and maintenance, crane operation, repair, inspection and training of operators and mechanics. Johns experience covers all types of cranes and applications in several countries. Marianne provided over 25 years of management and administration/accounting experience and experience in parts purchasing and inventory while working for the Detroit Diesel dealership in Perth, Western Australia where she originates from.
Kraus has been in business since 2006, however our beginnings date back to 1978. It was in 1978 that John started work on a dredge barge in the canals of Louisiana and Marianne started work detailing cars in Perth, Western Australia. John was living in Western Australia in 1995 when they met. By then Marianne was an administration manager and John was running Hutchinson’s Field Crane Repair Pty Ltd, a crane repair company John started in Australia that quickly acquired clients from the largest to the single operators. Johns work took him all over the Bush, or Outback as Americans call it, to mine sites, ports facilities, refineries and construction sites that often required two or more days travel down dirt roads just to get to. John also spent four years in the United States Marine Corps. He attended some of the Navy’s top maintenance management schools and as DCNCO for a Marine Detachment on the USS Constellation CV-64 was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for outstanding performance in Equipment Maintenance Management with 99% proficiency and 100% confidence in his responsibilities.

Our Objective at Kraus
Our Objective is to continue to expand our line of services for our clients. We achieve this by listening to our clients, especially when they voice their concerns and problems. Let’s speak to reality; Our clients do not call us when everything is going well! When they call they have an urgent need or a problem that has to be addressed. Our objective is to learn what is needed and provide the solution as fast as possible with a high degree of quality while being mindful of the costs. We are working to expand upon this by increasing the line of services we provide. While expanding we are also investing in the best equipment possible and in our employees. All our employees are required to take online hydraulic, hose and mechanical courses that cover for the entry level to the advanced courses that require them to travel to training sites for one or more weeks. Each employee is trained also in management starting with self management. This approach is the only way Kraus can provide a high degree of services and results for our clients.
